Odyssey Atlanta Workshops

NEST recently visited Westminster and met with each Odyssey grade level individually (9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade) to introduce students to the program and its mission of expanding access to entrepreneurship and financial literacy education. During each session, the NEST team shared how the competition empowers students to turn their ideas into action through business education, mentorship, and startup funding. Students learned about upcoming opportunities through NEST and how they could participate by developing solutions to real-world problems.

Beyond introducing the competition, NEST led interactive discussions on key concepts in entrepreneurship and financial literacy. Students explored topics such as identifying problems worth solving, developing business ideas, understanding customers, building a strong pitch, budgeting, saving, and making smart financial decisions. These lessons were designed to provide students with practical skills they can apply both in the competition and in their everyday lives.

The sessions had a strong turnout across all grade levels, with students actively engaging through questions, discussions, and activities. To make the presentations more engaging, NEST incorporated an interactive Kahoot that challenged students on business and financial concepts while encouraging participation and friendly competition. The combination of hands-on activities and real-world examples helped create an energetic learning environment where students could connect with the material.

Overall, the visit allowed NEST to connect with a diverse group of Westminster students and inspire them to explore entrepreneurship, innovation, and financial literacy. By bringing the program directly to students, NEST hopes to encourage more young people to pursue their ideas, develop meaningful solutions, and take advantage of opportunities to grow as future leaders and entrepreneurs.
